Hi everyone! We live in Australia and our son Hunta (20 months at June 2007) has DI and Panhypopituitarism secondary to a Craniopharyngioma brain tumor. I am interested in how others manage and care for their children who have this condition as we live 4 hours from our endo. I can't wait to check the posts everyday and see how everyone is managing!

Greetings, all. I've been living with central DI for almost 40 years, and I've never met anyone else with the condition. As a matter of fact it even surprises me when I come across a doctor who knows what it is. Thanks to a terrifc doctor and DDAVP, I've been able to lead a pretty normal life.

My son had a urinalysis and blood/urine osmolality test done which showed low urine osmolality, upper normal blood osmolality and low specific gravity. We are waiting for an appt for further testing. He has no bed wetting, wakes up rarely in the night to go to the bathroom and does not seem to be overly thirsty. He does urinate often during the day. I am nervous about the underlying causes of DI. We are not diagnosed yet but want more info.

I was diagnosed with DI when I was pregnant with my third child. Unfortunately, I did not have the gestational form of the disease as it continued after my Son was born. (he is now 11)
